DUI Proudly Supports Underwater Explorers at Monterey Bay Aquarium
Drop those GameBoys, PSP and cell phones. This is the place to experience a real life adventure. For the past several years DUI has proudly supported the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it's Underwater Explorers program. Geared to kids ages 8 - 13, this unique, underwater adventure is designed to give kids a true adventure. Kids get a fish's-eye view of the tide pool as they float safely on the surface wearing a mask, regulator, drysuit and specialized SCUBA gear. Certified dive staff assist kids in the water and introduce them to the rocky environment. No SCUBA experience is required, but participants must have basic swimming skills. Eric Hearn and his two daughters, pictured right, had this to say about his recent experience at Monterey Bay Aquarium: Trish, their dive instructor, who was kind of wild was perfect for my wild ones. She was very engaging, safe and always looking for an opportunity to share some secrets. The water was calm and 30 foot visibility and an invigorating 50 degree's. The girls were warm and toasty because of the drysuits that DUI has provided the program. In fact Trish had a tough time getting the girls out because they had so much fun! Dad on the on hand froze topside while waiting for their adventure to end. Left to right: Mary-Lynn, Trish and Elizabeth
